At Sunchase Companies, we are a vertically integrated real estate powerhouse, covering every aspect of the real estate journey under one roof. From initial development to construction, sales, and ongoing property management, we handle it all in-house, ensuring seamless control over every stage of a property’s lifecycle.

  • Development: Our team identifies prime real estate opportunities, acquires land, secures permits, and oversees planning and design for new projects.
  • Construction: We manage construction projects from start to finish, whether it’s building new properties or renovating existing ones.
  • Sales: Our dedicated sales arm markets and sells properties developed by us, as well as homes outside our portfolio, encompassing residential, commercial, and industrial properties.
  • Property Management: Once properties are developed and sold or rented, our property management team takes over, handling day-to-day operations such as maintenance, tenant relations, and ensuring profitability.

This integration allows for better quality control, cost savings, and faster response times to market changes. Additionally, it fosters a culture of collaboration and innovation within the company, leading to continuous improvement and growth.

The inspiration behind the founding of Sunchase Companies stemmed from Derek McGee, Kyle McGee’s late father. Derek initially established Panhandle Masonry, Inc in 1991 as a masonry subcontractor specializing in large commercial projects. Around 1997, he rebranded his company as ‘Sunchase Construction’ and also ventured into General Contracting, though his primary focus remained on masonry subcontracting. In 2012, Derek shifted away from the construction industry to pursue a new business venture, coinciding with his son Kyle’s high school graduation.

After Kyle graduated from college in 2016, he returned to Gulf Breeze and began his career in real estate as a realtor. Soon after, he persuaded his father to join him in purchasing three lots and constructing spec homes. Tragically, during the construction of the third home, Derek was diagnosed with terminal cancer and passed away after a six-month battle in February 2018.

A few months following Derek’s passing, Kyle decided to carry on his father’s legacy by establishing a new construction company under the same name. Thus, Sunchase Construction was born. The original vision for the company was to blend real estate sales with home construction, aiming to build a few homes annually and reinvesting the profits into income-producing properties

The name ‘Sunchase’ reflects the pursuit of excellence, inspired by Kyle McGee’s late father and grandfather. They would leave their home in the Gulf Breeze and Pensacola area to work in Okaloosa County, starting their day in the wee hours of the morning, following the sun as it rose in the East on their way to work, and watching it set on their way back home. This story epitomizes our commitment to excellence – the relentless pursuit of quality and the dedication to consistently excel in everything we do.
